work continues. writing, in and of itself, is actually too boring to blog about. A lot of me bleeding onto the screen, muttering and pacing. cats are more entertaining than I am right now. bed soon. yes. or maybe another couple-hundred words...

EtA: a squirrel in a yellow rain slicker just went by in a rowboat. rain is good. we need the rain, yes. must keep reminding self of that...

I'm not a cat person but... perhaps if you let him inside the curio cabinet, he'd come to understand the best glass upon to which to scratch.

He looks a lot like my Zing. And Boom is probably not an idiot, especially if scratching at the curio glass, (or anything else) gets him what he wants. Zing operates largely on annoyance.

Actually, Boomer is a remarkably polite feline. When you yell at him he stops and looks puzzled, as though trying to figure out what it is that he is doing that has you pissed, and then before he does it again he will look at you as though to apologize.

(I said he was polite, not bright!)

Sid knows that scratching on the door of the fridge will sometimes open it (it's an old fridge and the seal isn't what it once was). He hasn't yet learned that scrabbling at the side of the bath will not produce similar results. 'O Great White God!' - as my mother says. It's like watching a cargo cult.

Normally Boomer understands the difference between things -- he gets to eat off a place placed on the floor, for example, but not a plate on a table. But glass, apparently, perplexes him.

Pandora, of course, is staring at him with this look of "you utter moron" on her face. Then again, she looks at just about everyone with that expression...
