So, I have my assignment for World Fantasy:

SATURDAY, Noon.
The Animal Fantasy. From Aesop and Coyote stories through Animal Farm and Watership Down, this seems to be a universal form. What is the special appeal of having a story acted out by animals rather than people? And how anthropomorphic must they (or shouldn't they) be? Judith Berman (m), Carol Emshwiller, Laura Anne Gilman, Elaine Isaak, Gordon Van Gelder

Should be great fun, although I can't think if I've ever actually written an animal character.... Non-human, yes, but...well, there was the cat's POV in "Catseye...." Hrm. EtA: and I am reminded of Loki/Coyote, in "Sleepwork."

And this is the official call-out thread: if you're going to be at WFC and want to get together for a meal, drinks, a hallway shmooze, make a noise either here or in e-mail!

Well, I need to give you the book you won in the Halloween Horror Trivia Contest. You want a copy of Dragon Champion that you can hold up at the panel as the greatest Animal Fantasy since Tailchaser's Song?

You know I do. But I haven't got an assignment yet. Wonder if I will get one. I get in on Weds evening.
