Anthony Bourdain's Overrated Menu:
The cranky celebrity chef chops up dining's hottest trends

Because, as usual with Bourdain, he's smack dab on the money, funny as hell, and an unapologetic but informative asshole. What's not to love?

That is funny. And mostly true. I like knowing the Amish raised my chicken, I do confess.

Heh. I think I've eaten in restaurants that had menus like that.

Though for the record, I love chocolate martinis. Seriously, chocolate that gets you falling-down drunk? Where's the bad in that?

For years, and I blame being in business with a bunch of guys, I only drank REAL martinis - GIN! But then I got tricked into an apple one and now I am just a girlie little girl who looks for the specialty martini menu. SO Yummy.

It used to be just Jack Daniels or wine but

I was really snotty about cocktails until a friend began making me things with fresh blueberry syrup, fresh mint, or crushed ginger. And a well-made mojito is a glorious thing.

I am just completely embarrassed about what a cocktail snot I used to be - I would dress down anyone that asked me vodka or gin martini - I martini is GIN - the other thing is a vodka martini... but how low I have fallen.

Cayenne pepper-infused, freeze-dried chocolate nuggets bathed in marshmallow-star anise foam: There are maybe two or three decent practitioners of molecular gastronomy in the world, so unless your name is Ferran AdriĆ , leave the foam on your latte.

Wonderfully understated, but suprisingly sharp. I'm biting my lip raw to keep from disturbing the workplace, though I am wondering what an anise foam might taste like.

In last nights show he was visiting China and smacking his lips over things like soup bau. Declared the various foods to be the best things he had ever eaten. Personally I don't care for that much hot peppers, but his enthusiasm is wonderful.
