I am here in San Diego, ensconced on marinarusalka's sofa, drinking her single malt, using her wireless to research how to get from our hotel to the convention center, and listening to her explain why it would be so much easier if I just stayed here all weekend... Plus, she haz cat. Big plus. Negative, no health club. (but she points out that there is a jacuzzi. Hrmmmmm) Also, San Diego's much-vaunted public transit? Sucks ass. Although I am told that for California it's top-notch. Oy.

The plane ride was smooth and productive -- I managed to finish one freelance project and get about 2000 words done on a new story, including my new favorite line: "These days, science and religion were uneasy bedmates, and oft as not prone to cry rape."

I suppose I should fall over at some point. Paneling and whatnot tomorrow. If anyone's going to be at ComicCon who wants to get together and doesn't already have my cell #, e-mail me.....

The trolley will be running a special red line on Thursday and Friday that will go from the Mission Valley Center stop to the convention center (about a 20 minute ride), and on Saturday and Sunday they'll expand the Green Line for the same basic thing. You can get a four-day pass for $15. The stop in question is less than a mile from the hotel.
