I can't remember who I mentioned this to, so I'll post it for anyone to grab --

my breakfast smoothie recipe:

nonfat Greek yogurt (3/4 cup) (I use Fage 'total 0%')
1 small ripe banana
a splash (or two) of orange juice
several ice cubes

blend at high speed in a blender or food processor.

I've also made it with strawberries -- slightly sweeter, and a prettier color -- and have some kiwis I plan to try this week. You can use regular yogurt, but I really like the tartness and texture of Greek yogurt with the fruit.

For someone like me, who doesn't get enough fruit in her diet (veggies, yes, but not fruit) this is a really perfect meal. And if you dress it up with a splash of champagne and a garnish, it's great for a brunch!

Do you have a Trader Joe's in your area? Their Greek Yogurt is exactly the same as Fage, but cheaper.

I like it too. Have some in my fridge right now.

As someone who has been known to not eat anything all day, a smoothie is a godsend. Mine:

A scoop of nonfat frozen vanilla yoghurt or low-fat low-sugar vanilla ice cream

a banana

a handful of either frozen strawberries, raspberries or blueberries

some peach nectar

peaches, frozen or fresh or pulped or whatever's available that's peaches.

Into the smoothie machine.

Foofy drink with perfect calcium and vitC in it, plus antioxidants if I use the blueberries.

Mmmmm. Smoothie.
