*is back in love with House*


No, not the brilliance of the season one ender, but with a brilliance of its own, suited to where the show is and has been. And really, totally, logical and plausible and emotionally real.

And makes me want the new season NOW, please. Or at least next week....


But oh, I will miss the 'kids.' Even though it's true and real -- they have learned what they could from House, and it's time for new kids to step up for the abuse, er, education, and bless them all for recognizing that, in their own ways. And bless House for being aware of it, even as he fights it..

And now, back to work.

I really, really, really, really want to know how they're going to continue from this point, without resorting to cheap tricks or weakening anyone's character growth. Because if the characters are going to be around in any fashion next season, and I have no reason not to think they will, they'll need some clever explanations and storylines.

Why assume that? Have you heard anything about them being re-signed? (I've been too damn busy to keep up with any news out of Hollywood, myself. One way to keep from being spoilered, I suppose)

I've been searching to see if there's any news of that sort. So far, what little I've seen seems to suggest all three will be back. I'm fairly certain they've said Omar Epps will be around, and Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer seem fairly likely.

But then again, part of me just doesn't want to imagine all three jumping at once, because that would so hork the show's dynamic. :<

I thought it was a bit much for all three of them to go like that.

Much as I do love Hugh Laurie, it seems to me that the medicine in the show was becoming more and more of a fantasy. And must it always be so over-the-top life and death? Some of the more interesting bits of the series has been his interaction with the clinic patients over all those various nuisance ailments.

From what I've heard on the various TV gossip pages, the Housemartins will still be around next season, but in what capacity, no one knows, not even the writers (there's an interview with Omar Epps on tvguide.com). I think it'll make an interesting change, personally.

well, the thing we're all forgetting is that house fired them from his team. That doesn't mean they've been fired from the hospital which has other places to use talented, trained-by-the-best doctors.... given a choice between working somewhere else in the hospital and having to pack up and move to another area, maybe at a hospital without the same reputation, I can see them being talked into staying.

(and that way they'd be on-hand to watch the ne crop be trained)

I was speechless. But, yes, it was brilliant. I was just starting to like Chase, so I'd hate to see him vanish completely. Maybe he could go back to NICU ...

Chase needed to get kicked down the stairs. House kindly did it for him. Character can now get over it, and move on. Hopefully.

Exactly. Weeks ago, Cuddy initially offered Foreman his own department there, so maybe that'll happen. Or he'll head neurology or something.

I think it will be interesting to see if they or House act differently when they're colleagues and not underlings.

I thought the same thing when he fired Chase. Losing good doctors to another hospital doesn't makes sense. And, if they remain, it actually broadens the show to other areas, as we've seen with Wilson and with the clinic.

exactly. If the kids become supporting players, it a) allows the actors to take other jobs without endangering their show-status, which tends to make for happier actors, and b) broadens the show to include the entire hospital, thereby giving the writers more to work with than just 'team crisis of the week' because we're already emotionally invested in these three, and care what happens to them.

but all is speculation. which is what many of us do best. *grin*

When I watched the show, Cameron and Foreman resigned - they weren't fired.

And Chase is certainly competent enough to get another job at the hospital, even if he's not working for House.

I'll definitely second the request for the next season. No idea where it's going. Can't guess ... don't want to guess because I'm looking forward to being surprised.
