Occasionally (usually in warmer weather) I go through periods where I am a morning person. And by morning I mean 4am in the morning, hello, awake and not cranky about it. It probably sounds horrible to most of you, but there are compensations. Like getting things done in the pre-dawn stillness, before distractions come into the world. And waking to the silhouette of Boomerang reclining in a dark window, listening to the birds gossiping outside.
(the moment he realized I was awake he came over to visit, thereby ruining the moment, but it was a small slice of visual perfection for that brief moment).
And now, awake and with some visual poetry to start the day, it's off to work I go, secure in the knowledge that I can take a nap later, if needed. But for now, the morning is mine!
EtA: words that probably should not be said/heard all that often: "please don't drool on the keyboard, m'darling."
*what? it's a comfy bed! sheesh, you people....

Date: 2007-05-16 04:20 pm (UTC)I miss it, truth to tell. And it's infuriating being married to a night owl; given his druthers, Nic would fall asleep around three and sleep until 11 in the morning. Screws up my entire day.
