I have discovered what my superhero power is.

I am Check-Summoning Girl.

All I have to do is go to the bank to deposit money, and that afternoon, the mailman brings another check (correction -- two checks. I stopped halfway through opening the mail. An anthology paid royalties, too).

(Swear to god, it happens every time. but you must understand that the nearest branch of my bank is the next town over and I don't get a regular parade of checks. so I'm not constantly bopping down there. Still.)

Dudes. I promise to use this power only for good. :-D

I wait and wait (sometimes for months)and then call (which I hate to do) and ask "Where is my check?" only to walk to the post office later that day to find it sitting in my mail box.
