The Interview meme Strikes Back!

1. If you could only read the work of one writer while you were isolated for a month, who would it be?
Ack. That’s tough. Jane Austin, I think. That way I'd a) know I would be entertained, b) know I was going to learn something about the art and act of novel writing, and c) would finally get to the lesser books of hers that I've never had a chance to read (oh, the shame!).
2. If you could invite any two people from any time in history over for dinner at the same time, who would they be?
Mark Twain, because he was erudite, funny, cynical, optimistic and had good dinner conversationalist manners when he wanted to. And Golda Meir, because not only do I want to pick her brains about a lot of things, but she’d be more than capable of slapping Mr. Clemmens down when his ego got too big for the table.
There are others, but I think I'd want to keep it within the same general hundred year mark, so's not to run into real social awkwardness. Not to mention practical things like food preferences, language differences... blood oaths to kill all the fill-in-the-blank that might made polite conversation difficult...
3. If you (for whatever reason) were stuck into a genre film or novel, what genre would you prefer living through?
As the heroine, or as a bit character? If I were the heroine, then a contemporary romance. I don’t mind suffering if I know that a) there will be good sex, b) there will be witty dialogue, and c) there will be a reasonably pleasant ending. As a bit character, I want to be in an adventure novel. Preferably as someone who watches things getting blown up rather than getting blown up herself, but hey, anything's fun once, right?
4. If you could alter one decision that you made in life, what would you change?
Oh. Hrm. Knowing what came of it, or just on the moment? On the moment, I'd say I wish I'd taken that semester off to travel, the way I wanted to, and not let the pragmatic, practical voice win the day. I've always regretted that, and the adventures I didn't have.
5. If you could have a supernatural ability, say time travel or immortality or the ability to make people's heads explode, which would you choose?
I want the superpower to take back any stupid comment I make (or at least erase it from peoples’ memories). Or, alternatively, the ability to teleport. yeah. Absolutely the ability to teleport.
Ask me five more, or ask me for five for you....
