ah, monday

Ah, Monday. A day that is notable to me for two reasons.

1. I have a standing social engagement on monday night I try not to miss.
2. it means I can harass my editor and my agent about things I thought of over the weekend.
(okay, truthfully, I could reach either or both of them over the weekend if I needed to. But as the parenting handbook says, if it's not broken or bleeding, it can wait)

But I know some of you are staggering off grumpy back to work, so I give you some feline cuteness to carry with you.






The Duchess is not impressed by her housegirl.



Neither is Boomerang.

he's got large everything. Right now, he'd make a good playmate for The Puppy. Another four months, maybe not so much.

I have noticed that our cats are of one of two moods when we return.

I either get "Oh? You're back? Hadn't noticed you were gone."

OR

They will not let me out of their sight. I have cats underfoot until everyone has had all the head skritched that they want and are assured that I am really back.

Mine tend to sniff my trouser legs and shoes. If there's anything that indicates another animal has been near, I get the "You WHORE! You faithless TRAMP! You've been with ANOTHER CAT!" treatment.

Cats, is weird.

Also, suri, am back and forth with my own agent and editor this morning. So yeah, I hear you on point number two.

I saw some discussion of that elsewhere. Not really a fair test, IMO -- when you're commuting in rush hour, you don't have TIME to stop and enjoy anything. Doesn't mean people didn't recognize quality and smile at the memory all day during the job...

Maybe, maybe not. People often busk at busy times of day-- what I found interesting was the followup-- some people not even recalling there was a musician there. But what really got me, was that without fail, children wanted to stop and look. I thought that was really cool.
