lagilman: coffee or die (Paris)

Bah. Is colder outside than it looks. And windier. But I got some fresh air and sunshine, so yay me. Now I can sofaslug.

Have put laundry through. Clean socks are a goodness. Lunch has been consumed. Also made my hotel reservation for the nephew's bar mitzvah, finally. Now I have to figure out what to get him. E. might appreciate the traditional pen set, actually.

Now to put red pencil to paper for client and pay for my continued existence.

ETA: It is very difficult to take a complaining cat seriously when halfway through his plaint it turns into a yawn.

A Temptation, while in Paris

OMG more Temptation "The exhibition organized at the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris from March 7 to July 29, 2007 is devoted to the work of René Lalique (1860-1945), the « inventor of modern jewellery » according to Emile Gallé. With over 400 pieces created between 1890 and 1912, it brings together many pieces of jewellery and objects, many unseen before, from prestigious private collections and museums." *dies* Oh so very Yes.

If I ask very nicely indeed, would you send me a postcard from the Lalique exhibition? Oh please?

Lalique! ::swoon:: Oh, wow. You MUST go. If they have souvenir posters of the exhibit and they look nice, would you could you please bring me one? I know it's a PITA to cart around a poster tube, so say no if that looks insurmountable. But, yeah. I went to a Lalique exhibit in Munich about ::gasp:: twenty years ago and it was fantastic. Super cheap for university students, too--something like 3 DM to get in. The poster (I have it framed in our guestroom; you may remember it) was an enlargement of a tiny green and gold brooch printed on a black background. Seems silly, but of all our framed things it's just about my favourite.

You could always send the poster via La Poste.

The "things you shouldn't say" list is hysterical. I may have to bring that to the next party I go to.

You really need to go to Chantilly. They have the prettiest bits of porcelain there. (Musee Condee gift shop)

Oh good. You want to practice your French. My SO doesn't speak any English so you should get in a lot of practice during lunch/diner/tea/coffee (pick any of the above)!
