what a writer's workday looks like
Jan. 26th, 2007 05:46 pmchores accomplished: washed dishes, did the sweeping. cleaned litter boxes.
exercise: none. I have been a sofa-bound slug. Unless...how many calories does typing burn, anyway?
business correspondence: back-and-forth with Adam the Wonder Assistant over some Russian in the proofs. An exchange with Mademoiselle Agent over a project in play.
freelance project: I haven't even opened the damned file today. No guilt.
words written (so far):1,400. Goal is 2,500 words for the day. 2,300 as of 10pm. Total weekend goal is 7,500. Totally doable.
blankets used: one quilt, one fleece. The cats moved between those and the kitty condo. The apartment stayed pretty warm so long as the sun was out. Now? Not so much. Time to turn the heat up.
movies watched: it's Paul Newman's birthday, or something: "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "The Hustler," "Hud."
food eaten: Toast. And a bagel. And, um. It's time for dinner, isn't it? Would it be very cruel to call for delivery on a night like this? Yeah, probably.
Tomorrow I have to leave the house for small random things, and friends are calling me to go to a beer tasting. We Shall See.

ETA2: I actually have been watching several evolving political stories, including Bush's "I'm in Charge, So Screw You, And If You Disagree The Terrorists Have Won" troop build-up plan, but I haven't had the time to get anything coherent together for posting. Maybe this weekend...

Date: 2007-01-27 08:14 am (UTC)On coherent political commentary: I'll be waiting, but seriously, why should you have to be coherent, when he doesn't have to be? Answer me that!

Date: 2007-01-27 02:39 pm (UTC)The main thing that gets me about his attitude, is that he seems to forget he still has to answer to Congress and they can still override any choice he tries to forcefeed them.
Maybe this time, they'll get off their asses and impeach him.

Date: 2007-01-27 03:30 pm (UTC)and yeah, I keep thinking 'dude, you haven't had your dictatorship estabished yet, at least pretend that you still remember this is a representative democracy and wethepeople still can shut your ass down when we need to.' Just because the protest marches have all stopped shy of the White House so far, don't assume they always will -- it's OUR real estate, not yours. You live there at our pleasure. And we are most displeased, right about now....
ahem. /rant.
