Monday morning musings
Mar. 1st, 2004 09:27 amI'm not sure why, but I -- an earth sign -- always think better near water. I'm not so much for swimming, but I do like being in or near water. For whatever the reason, my thoughts always seem to come together best in the shower. The warm water takes the dust of sleep and rehydrates it back into a brain, I suppose.
Anyway, two points of clarity this morning.
1. I'm a bitch, not a bigot, because I find more satisfaction in hating individuals than entire groups. Groups are too unwieldy, and there are too many chances to discover people I actually like despite their group membership, which makes the entire hatred thing pretty much pointless. I can and do hate the leader of any particular group, however.
2. I, personally, will not grant people the uncontested right to make moral judgements based on passing references in the Old or New Testament until they manage to perfect the Basic Ten Commandments. Once you manage to live by the original rules, then you earn the right to argue interpretations of the ephemera. Not before.
In other news, it's supposed to maybe hit 60 degrees today. Blue skies and sunshine. Pandora has laid claim to the spot on the bed where the sunbeams linger the longest. And I have to chain myself to the desk to finish off The Things Which Must Be Done Today. Maybe if I kick some project ass, I'll walk into town for lunch...
Update: First deadline of the day kicked, although not in time for lunchtime walkies. Which is just as well, 'cause cramps suck. Hard. Forgot today was the day.. But the air is mild, so I spent some time doing moderate yardwork (aka picking up the trash that is now visible where the snow was before) and thereby got my Outdoor Quality Time in. And now, back to Part Two of TTWMBDT....
