Because I am a lazy thing (and the stereo is in the other room) I am not-really-listening to a radio talk-show of the call-in variety. And I didn't quite hear the original question (something about a female friend and her baby and the dubious paternity regarding the friend's boyfriend) but the (female) caller asked "what should I do?"

And the host replied "Nothing! It ain't your business!"

unlikely, alas. The only thing people like better than talking about other folk is feeling superior to them. And you can't do that if you simply accept peoples' rights to, y'know, make their own mistakes-by-your-standards. :-(

I dunno. I think I can feel how I like about someone else's idiocy. Some people do suffer from Too Stupid To Live Syndrome and deserve the hairy eyeball. Whether one has the right to actually do something about such things is another issue entirely, but I can take a dim view of certain behavior if I want to.

Um. Yes, for the most part I agree, but it's not feeling but interacting that was under discussion.

I very much feel superior to someone who not only does stupid things, but won't even try to do the right thing or know what that right thing might be. None of us lives in a vacuum, and my life is affected by people who make bad decisions. The '04 election leaps to mind as an example.

In a nutshell, perhaps it's started...

People down here seem more polite lately, letting people cut in line, few honking events...I hope the majority of people decide MYOB is a philosophy they can live with -- and vote accordingly.
