CNN is reporting that Robert Altman, director of "M-A-S-H," "Nashville" and "The Player," has died.

One of my favorite directors. Loved his films. M*A*S*H, Brewster, McCabe I can watch over and over. He was a real film maker.

He also was one of the early directors of the TV show Combat! which I loved. My dad and I used to watch it all the time. His were some of the great episodes. It's on a cable channel now and holds up beautifully.
