a holiday gift-thought plug
Nov. 13th, 2006 01:53 pmThe mailman rang my bell at ungodly early this morning, handing me two large boxes.
Whatha? I thought. Then I saw the return address and I got all sorts of gleeful.
My candles!
For those of you who don't know,
karenetaylor is not only a niftyfine writer, she is also an excellent candle-maker. So much so, in fact, that I prefer to burn her candle to any other I've yet to find at that (extremely reasonable) price range, as they burn evenly, and smell lovely. And hand-made candles are just better, overall, than anything you'll get in a mall store.
My assortment included my usual vanilla votives, which I burn year-round, and some ginger ones I'll be trying out, plus both in pillar-size, and the holiday pine candles (this year in a tree-shaped mold) that are my december treat to myself. Just unpacking the box made my office smell delightful.
So if you're a candle-fan, or know someone who is? Go talk to Karen. Tell her suri sent you. But move quickly -- the holidays are almost here!
