especially driving in the rain, when it's steady and sweet.

I finally, suddenly, shockingly figured out the ending to a story that's been bugging me for almost eighteen months. All the bits and pieces are starting to fall into place, even the stuff that made no sense at all and got shoved into a sidebar waiting for the axe.

I love my job.

*smooches muse*

And, just to prove she won't be left out, Erato left me something to work with as well. Damed muses, feast or bloody famine with them, innit?

I bleed better
standing up.
Gravity pools beneath my feet
and that mathematical precision
put Galileo to blush;
The way you draw the lines
cross-scored on my heart --
my dry-beating heart.

But let´s take it as a given
That I´m not the better woman
And move on.

Yay on the story fairy! That's terrific, there's no better feeling than getting unstuck after being stuck in a holding pattern.

Go you!

Here's to Muses and their wacky, wily ways. Mine keeps changing the roadmap on me. I think I know where I'm going, then the plot veers suddenly to the left and there's suddenly all this new territory to explore that I never even knew was there.

Reply inspired by Erato

Strength comes with sorrow
On half-buried bones stands oak
Red leaves paint the sky
