I've gone digital!
Jun. 5th, 2006 10:31 amSTAYING DEAD is officially up on Amazon in digital (Adobe) format now. Download early, download often...
And 23 days until BRING IT ON and GRAIL QUEST: MORGAIN'S REVENGE hit the stands (give or take an early appearance). Order now, so you'll have them in your hands all the sooner!
this has been your Monday PSA (personal shopping assistant) reminder. And back to work I go.
(the only advantage, far as I can tell, of having a due date the same month as your pub date, is that you're almost too busy to be nervous. Almost. Allllllllmost. *grin*

Re: E-Books
Date: 2006-06-06 05:42 pm (UTC)Yeah, they have been almost since release. But they're tie-in work, so I don't count them as 'mine.'
You have also been released in the wild, on UseNet; I just now checked. Now that legit versions are out that will almost certainly fade, rapidly;
No, I don't think they will. They'll be out there endlessly, because nothing ever 'fades' from the Internet. What I think about people who think that they have some right, economic, moral or otherwise, to 'share' freebie copies of my copyrighted work -- the stuff I make my living from -- is not fit to be seen on a family-friendly screen. You may scorn or dislike 'protected' formats, but I dislike even more having my paycheck stolen from me by pirates. I suspect, if they were to come in and take a slice off your paycheck, even the mostferverent open souce advocate would feel similar.
(and don't anyone dare tell me that I should be flattered, or that I shouldn't expect to get paid for those copies -- do YOU expect to get paid for the job you do? I bet you do...)
Re: E-Books
Date: 2006-06-06 06:05 pm (UTC)This is also why I've had to take a stand against fanfiction and the related games -- because too many people out there think that 'copyright' is meaningless, or something aimed at merely keeping them from doing what they want, rather than protecting people like me.
That ranted, thank you! :-) Your effort is very much appreciated.
