Hey, if I'm going to hell as an unsaved, unloved sinner, I might as well go on a full stomach, right?


Heated the bottom of a frying pan with extra virgin olive oil, then added in two cloves of fresh sliced garlic, a handful of chopped fresh sage, a scattering of dried rosemary (oh! for fresh rosemary!) and some red pepper flakes. Bring oil to a faint simmer. Add to the mix two lamb chops (about .6 lb total, bone-in). Cooked until browned outside, pink inside, and consumed with relish, and also a glass of an inexpensive cotes du rhone white.

Nice. Very, very nice.

Thus fortified, I get to spend my evening writing copy for a surprisingly entertaining PI-with-relationship novel.

b) if you want to partake of paneling/dealers room shopping, yes. If you're just going to be ghosting the bar, probably not needful. WorldCon's a massive thing, tho, and you only see 11/5 of it from the bar...

b) only feel the need to register if there's panels involved. And good lord, no, not my first; I did a lot of bar ghosting at the SF WorldCon back in the early 90s, and then, when I first met you, back in San Jose.

Honestly, I'd rather save the money for smoked whitefish at Nate & Als, but if we have any shot at doing a panel or two, I'll find the dosh and cough it up for a reg.

Come visit the ranch. Our rosemary bush is big enough to cover the propane tank from the back window view. Only drawback -- electric stove.

One of the most lovely things of the lovely things discovered in Italy was the hedge-sized rosemary bush outside our villa.

For now, having to make do with sage and mint.
