And thus ends Friday...
Feb. 6th, 2004 05:58 pmWriting happiness: That moment when your fingers know more than your brain, because you honestly didn't know there was any such thing as X in your world until it appeared on the page. And X is totally cool, and explains a great deal about the situation being set up, and works into what's going forward. And it's perfectly logical and organic within the context of the world.
Managed about 1500 words yesterday in the Starbucks of Good Writing, Greenwich Village edition, and typed it all in this morning. Another 2500 or so this afternoon, and things are twisting plot-wise in ways that are interesting but also annoying, in that now I have to go back and readjust the came-before and the comes-after.
Total wordage for the week should come to about 10,000, give or take a paragraph. Doesn't suck, considering I was also Social Girl.
And more happiness -- got word that a story of mine is in the "to-buy" pile at a major magazine market. Most pleased by this, obviously. Details when I actually get a contract. Not that I'm superstitious or anyting -- I just don't like to tempt fate. :-0
The only thing that has not gone well this week has been my diet. Must get crap out of house. Threw away the last of the chips and dips yesterday, and Peter finished off the remaining angel food cake, and the M&Ms have gone into the freezer to be used next time I make cookies, so we're almost noshing-safe again. Popcorn and carrots and protein bars, oh my!
