Although, in this case, the movie (sorry, PotC) is damnfine, and the commentary (Kiera K. and Jack Davenport) is just an added fillip of snarky joy...

"How can one man wear so much brocade, and not be classified as a mardi gras float?"

"Sit back, relax, and enjoy some very repressed work."

"What was it like being in a film with 250,000 men? Was it lovely? Or was it a bit much?"

"There was a certain amount of courtly man-love going on."

Suddenly, I am filled with great love for Jack Davenport. And I think he would make a truly lovely, lovely Sergei. Should anyone be listening...

What movie is this?

If you like Jack Davenport, have you seen him in Sharpe and Knight's Tale?

Oh, and I saw a trailer for Beyond the Hedge. Have to say I think it looks hideous ...

Oh, yes. The Jack Davenport-Keira Knightley commentary is my favorite part of the DVD. They banter so hilariously.

And apparently Davenport's part has been expanded for the sequel. Which I won't get to see till I get back from Antarctica. Feh.

My wife's favorite parts of the commentary are:
a) Kiera discussing what was filmed in the Caribbean and what was filmed in an LA tank
b) Kiera saying who great it was to kiss Johnny Depp and Johnny saying how kissing Kiera made him feel like a letcher since she was so much younger.

Another good commentary is the one on Love Actually.

My favorite part was them arguing about whose costume was most uncomfortable, with Keira going on about the corset and Jack going, "I have one word for you... layers."

LOL! My daughter was shocked to learn that Johnny Depp and I are more or less of an age. And having just looked up KK's info on IMDB, I can see Depp's point. The woman is closer to my daughter's age than his.

Well, it's not like they called PotC numero uno the Big Gay Pirate Movie for nothing...

Have you seen him in ULTRAVIOLET? The role he played there was pretty close to a young Sergei.
