Oh, the frustration...
Apr. 28th, 2006 10:00 amI have kvelling I can't do yet, because the person I want to kvell over hasn't officially released the news. So, me, kvelling silently, silently, oh yes.
I have an editor who wants to see something that's not quite ready to be released into the wild yet. Editor knows this, understands this, and is willing to wait... but oh! the frustration.
Am still waiting on two stories out on submission, one of which has gotten three different "yes, I know, we like it but give us another month, please" e-mails in response to queries over the past six months. So, I wait. And wait. And if, at the end, they pass, there may be bloodshed. Or maybe just boozeshed.
I have a piece of furniture half-built in my office, because the kit 'forgot' to include a rather important piece. Now I remember why I build or refinish things myself, rather than buying kits... Yay for improvising with plywood!
I have scenes in my head that aren't up in rotation yet. So I can't write them because that will throw off the natural growth of the story. But they want out, damn it.
And
peggin is coming up to visit next weekend! But it's not next weekend yet!
Bah. Off to attack the things I can do something about.
