accomplishments o' the day, such as they are

Half the chapter nailed to the wall.
Lunch with editor (waves to editor).
Proposal for YA suspense novel sent off to agent, after discussion with editor.
Stopped in at three bookstores.
Defaced four books (2 Grail Quest, 2 Curse The Dark) in said bookstores.
Walked approximately 1.75 miles (A lovely day for walking, except I was dressed for low 60's, not low 70's.)
Replied to fan e-mail.

Aren't you all just enthralled?


Off in a bit to get my car out of hock, pick up houseguest, and head for home, where the cats can show me how very much they didn't like being left alone in the new place overnight...

Odd...I always thought the flow was writer to agent, then to editor. Of course, you're selling books and I'm not, so clearly you understand something better than I do. :)

well, first you have lunch with someone and say "so, what are you looking for?" and when they tell you, have a little light bulb go off that says "oh wow, that matches this project" and then off it goes to the agent for a look-over and commentary before winging editor-wise...
