UPDATE: 26.9 inches in Central park. It's an Official Record

UPDATE #2: The plows are here! The plows are here!

My mom (she who does not have an LJ...yet) reports they're reporting 22.8" in Central Park. My dad's already predicting Historic Storm status (they've just confirmed that on the news -- second worst storm, so far).

The guys shoveling out their cars outside are up to their hip bones when they step off the curb, so we're estimating at least a foot, probably closer to 16" here.

Anyone else got reportage to report?

Here in upstate Manhattan we're seeing complete whiteout. I'm hoping for a snowball fight in the park this afternoon.

upper east side reporting: 71st street blocked at both ends by buses stuck in snow banks. Amusing to watch from several floor above but I imagine annoying on street level

yeah, it's not good. 1st avenue has been plowed (though it's hard to tell) but a lot of the side streets haven't.

In the Northeast Bronx, we have at least 18 inches and it is still snowing at nearly noon.

I love snow, I do, but we have tickets for Kismet tonight with the delectable Brian Stokes Mitchell, and have not yet decided if we are going to brave the streets and Metro-North (which appears to be running) or not. I am definitely in non-adventure mode but the rest of the house is still thinking we could maker it.

The show will go on, says the City Center web site, but I don't know if we will be there.

I'd say at least 14" here in central Connecticut. I've been measuring it with my snow shovel, though, not a ruler. ;-D

It looks like at least 2 feet in Bristol, CT. It's hard to tell with the drifts, though :-D

Nowt but a dusting, up here in Maine. I can still see brown grass and asphalt, where the wind swirls the dry stuff away and tucks it into corners.

Here in Central Jersey we've got a goodly amount. Expecting 18-24 but when I went out there it was up to my knees. Shoveling that is going to suck.

Kari-who's from Southeast Texas and doesn't know what to do with this white crap.

GAAAAH! I get a little sleep, and all the Weather Wardens run off to the Bahamas again.

You take care ... this is really terrible, considering the heating oil costs this winter.

A good, thick insulating layer of snow isn't the worst thing that could happen, heating wise. Far worse than that is when it spends a month being too cold for snow to form.

About 8" in Southern Maryland. Closer to 20" in Baltimore.

All's good. It's melting already.

Just a few flurries here in Missouri. The dogs came in looking like they had dandruff. If we could take a foot of your snow, we would. We'd had only a couple inches all winter long. I miss the days when we had snow up to the porch.
