off to somewhere warmer...
Jan. 15th, 2004 07:59 amWhich, at this point, would be the average walk-in freezer. Damn but it's cold out there! And it will get colder -- by the time we hit the airport this afternoon the high is supoosed to be 0 degrees. That's a high of zero. You don't want to know about the wind chill. Trust me.
On the plus side, the 5-6" of snow that came down overnight was a wonderfully dry powder, which made shoveling the driveway relatively easy, so...
Anyway, off in a few hours for London, which has seen worse invasions but not, I suspect, recently. I'm on strictly student rations, since the exchange rate is so 'orrible for us poor American tourists, but I suspect I'll have fun anyway.
And, before I go, some updates:
weekly word count to date on Retrievers #2: 2,000+
weekly word count on other projects: 1,000+
new story ideas fermenting: three
If the airplane engine white noise does its usual trick for me, one of those story ideas may be full-born by the time we land in Gatwick. Or maybe I'll sleep. We'll see.
Catch y'all on the return!
