random yellowjacket update

So. I'm allergic to yellowjacket venom. Who knew?

(my mom, apparently, as she is, too).


And there seem to have been four stings in the one finger. Guess I really put my hand wrong...

The nice doctor has given me a shot, and a script for my old friend methylprednisolone and some Zyrtec, and promises I'll be back to writing-normal in a few days. Joy.

Meanwhile, the line edit sits and glares at me. But my To Be Answered e-mail pile has gone down considerably. No bad without some good, I suppose...

and new CSI tonight!

(did anyone else see the new CSI:NY? Is it just me or is a 'cuddle pile' kind of weird, but also kind of.. sane? Especially compared to some of the other things of real life reflected previously in the CSI lens?)

Oh boy. Utmost sympathies. Hope the meds work quickly and you feel better soon!

And no, discovering these allergies is NOT fun--I discovered I was allergic to yellowjackets as a kid when I got stung and couldn't breathe very well afterward. That bought me a trip to the ER and a year of allergist visits and desensitization shots afterward. Ugh.

amm.. I had to check those yellowjackets up.. because we call them wasps.. but still, they are really fascinating animales.. when my biologyteacher pulled the wings of one, it still tried to jump of the table and fly away.. I mean it was cruel and very unnecessary.. but he got stung later on that summer so I guess they got revenge.. aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway

I hope you feel better soon and do not wonder who I am.. I am just wondering around sleepless and finding new people in nice people's ljs..

I was allergic to them once, but eleven years between stings was enough for the allergy to fade away. I have not experimented to find out how short an interval is enough.

The most annoying allergy was the one to chocolate.

I'm here to talk CSI goodness. I'm enjoying the brighter look on CSI: NY and I like the less intense Mac. Works much better. Also, Hill Harper is friggin' awesome. So this is all good. And I get your point about the cuddle pile weirdness/sanity thing. The weirdest part was actually the "lifeguard".

As far as CSI: Original, what I'm loving about the show this season is that they've ratcheded up that dual layered thing they do. There's the conversations they have surrounding a crime which all seem to have another personal meaning behind them. Grissom's uncomfortable conversation with Sara as well as Catherine's conversation in the hall with Sara which had implications for her and Warrick. Nice.

The lifeguard did set off my ooogy alert, yeah. But I'm not sure if that was the role, or the actor.

I did wonder if, since a blind woman was so welcome, they let unattractive people in, too...
