and lo, it was Tuesday.
Sep. 6th, 2005 12:09 pm"Bureaucracy has murdered people in the greater New Orleans area. And bureaucracy needs to stand trial before Congress today," Aaron Broussard, president of Jefferson Parish, said on CBS' "The Early Show."
"So I'm asking Congress, please investigate this now. Take whatever idiot they have at the top of whatever agency and give me a better idiot. Give me a caring idiot. Give me a sensitive idiot. Just don't give me the same idiot."
I <3 this quote. Really.
In other news -- writing continues, now on a slightly more frantic pace. Wheeeee! Weather is cooling and sunny. Cats are reacting by insisting on a mass pileup on my bed. I have left them to it, and found a different patch of sunlight to work in. The brain is working in overdrive, and I need. more. caffeine!
Also food. Should balance caffeine with food, yes....

Date: 2005-09-06 05:08 pm (UTC)I love your books. Adore Wren and Sergei--I thought about the first book again and again after I read it, and pounced on the second the day it came out. Thanks for the great reads.
Since I'm a fellow caffeine nut: in case you've never tried it, Peet's coffee is not only matching Katrina donations but also roasts by hand, in Berkeley California, the best darn coffee I've ever had. (http://www.peets.com/)
There are a lot of obscure coffee roasters around, but Peet's rules, imho.
Thanks again,
Kathy S.
