no more rescue worker entries
Sep. 5th, 2005 12:33 pmI've continued getting entries, but haven't felt comfortable posting them -- too much raw agony, too much pain to share freely. And I'm not sure, at this point, if reading them will do anyone any good. We know enough. We know enough to be horrified, grief-stricken, furious, and hopefully empowered to act.
So I'm going to ask you, now -- you who have been reading these reports, and reacting to them -- to react one more time.
Not for the residents of New Orleans, or Biloxi, or Gulfport. But for the people who went in there, who were on the ground and in the water, and are starting to come home now.
They're victims, too. They're going to have things to deal with no-one should ever have to deal with.
So I've set up an e-mail account -- rescue_response@lycos.com
Send an e-mail. Tell this person -- and everyone else on her team -- how you feel. And I'll forward it on back down the line.
It may not do anything in the middle of the night, when memories come back to haunt. But it might.
Thanks.
