having worked all day, I'm taking time off for some brain candy. Sci-Fi channel. 7pm Eastern. "Octopus." Terrorists and secret agents battle crazed octopi.

Going off to make the popcorn, now.

(if I can manage it, after is "Octopus 2: River of Fear" Radioactive octopi in NYC's harbor. Can you stand the anticipation?)

well, we're starting off right, during the Cuban Missle Crisis, with a Russian sub in US waters... and lo, they're sunk. Slow-mo of dying sailors and stirring martial music. Panning shot of tanks ooing a slow green fluid onto the ocean floor. Next up: inquiring octopus, I bet...

Nope, cut to CIA outpost, in a clearly far more innocent age, where little kids are allowed to hang out in the secretarial pool while mommy works. And nobody thinks anything of an old woman who walks in with an unsearched bag. Suspension of disbelief officially in overdrive...

Shmuck. Guy who blew up the building with your girlfriend in it is in your sights, and you don't pull the trigger? I know preschoolers who would do better than that.

All right, the rivalry between spook and terrorist has been set up now. We'd better see some mega-octopi, soon.

Hah. We have achieved octopi. Complete with musical cues and cheezy underwater screaming.

...bored now. Kill the terrorist before he giggles again, willya?

Okay, a mutant octopus with iron deficiency craving meat All to set up, as far as I can tell, to deliver the punchline "white meat, or dark meat?" I can respect that.

Not sure if [livejournal.com profile] kradical shared this with you, but every other Tuesday, he and I along with [livejournal.com profile] drewshi and another friend get together for a night of Geeking.  Which usually involves pizza and a bad movie.

NOW THAT'S SOME MOVIE MOCKING!

True movie mocking is a communal experience I do not believe can be adequately shared via LJ.

But keep trying.

;-)

I will say that most of the time we actually mock Keith.

Only because we love.

But we'll have to stop that now that he can kick our collective asses.

Besides, [livejournal.com profile] popfiend, you know we talk more about other things than the actual movies (EDIT)themselves. I think this week was the most quiet I've seen in ages, in part because [livejournal.com profile] kradical wasn't there (we missed you, pal) and because I think you actually liked what we watched.

Sorry, we'll take this elsewhere now.
