As some of you know, one of my Big Things is getting folk to donate blood/platelets. So I'm passing this along...



Free Tickets to the Renaissance Faire for summer blood donors!

Donate blood and get two tickets to the NY Renaissance Faire, being held weekends from August 6 through September 25th in Sterling Forest, Tuxedo, NY
All you have to do is:
Step 1: Make a whole blood, Alyx, or platelet donation now through September 9th at any Blood Center of New Jersey blood drive or donor center.
Step 2: Email your name, address, date and site of donation to BCNJ.
Step 3: Watch your mailbox for 2 tickets!

I wish to hell I could donate blood, because I'm O neg. But the metal allergy is so bad - it's borerline anaphylaxis - that they won't take it from me. They look at my chart and they shoo me away.

It pisses me off, because there just isn't enough to go round, and if they could find a way to get it out of my body with triggering the reaction, I'd give them quarts, damn it. But I suspect that, now, the autoimmune issues would bar me from it anyway. Multiple sclerosis, feh.
