A friend just IM'd me. Luna apparently took out an ad for Curse the Dark in the Village Voice.
(for those not in the NYC area wondering why I'm so falling-over)
Of course, it's also known for its rather.... innnnteresting personal ads, too. :-D

Date: 2005-07-14 05:16 am (UTC)If you have room in your luggage, how about snagging a copy for us out here in AZ land?
Borders in Glendale and Paradise Vally Mall now have fliers for your readings, and Glendale is faced (PV mall was out, some friends of mine got the last copies, so I mentioned it and was assured that more were on order)
Flying off the shelves!

Date: 2005-07-14 11:31 am (UTC)I know that their thinking probably went: "well, it's set in New York. In the Village. Makes sense," but it's also a readership that would NOT have come to a Luna book, as a general rule. Not a slam-dunk that, say, RoF or Locus ads would have been.
They're rememembering that the job is to widen the net, not just tighten it aroud the readers we've already caught. If y'all will pardon being compared to fishies for the sake of the example. :-)
Am pleased. Oh my yes.
