oh god. it's 82 degrees at 10pm
Jun. 12th, 2005 09:45 pmThe fact that Curse the Dark takes place during a heat wave in Manhattan? Total coincidence. Really. Please don't hurt me.
Anyway. Too hot to work. Too hot to even watch tv. (although watching the promos for "Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy" are really making me fear for humanity. This got greenlighted? What drugs are the folks at Sci-Fi on, and why aren't they sharing?)
But not to hot to meme, apparently, as I've been tgged by
deire:
"Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.."
working in a darkroom (something I haven't been able to do for far too long)
riding horseback (see above. I need to fix that.)
reading a brand-new and wonderful book (or re-reading a familiar and wonderful book)
dancing
and the #1 thing that calms, destresses, and just generally makes me happy? Sprawling somewhere with the felines and having their sweet, totally independent-minded love remind me why the collective human 'we' brought them in from the barn.
(of course, putting this list together, I realize that there's probably one thing nobody's put on their list that everyone _should_ put on their list... *evil grin*)

I mean, cooking is great and I do it very well, but there's prep and cleanup.
Shopping is great, but there's money involved, mental budgeting, physical movement that involves being upright for long periods.
Music isn't relaxing, because I've been so deeply involved in it, it's never just music - there's always a memory, usually tender or ouchy.
Multiple orgasms? No pressure. No problem.
So it's my fave way to relax...
