Is hot. Is very hot. Am not a hapy meerkat.

On the other hand, Sara Ramirez won a Tony for her role in Spamalot. Yayyyyy! *much Kermit-waving of arms* I am pleased to say I predicted this, mere moments after seeing her do The Diva Song onstage. And Mike Nichols won for best direction of same, yayyyy!

(and Terri? *hands her a towel* You know you need it, and you know why. *grin*)

Spent last night at the Harlequin Book Expo party, which was quite swanky and a lot of fun, and ooo, caviar! And after the party ended, there were late night single malts (and cider) in the local Irish pub with fellow Lunatix Maria Snyder, [livejournal.com profile] arcaedia, and Luna Goddess and editor Mary-Theresa Hussey. And yes, we were by far the best dressed femmes in the joint. :-)

Today? Woken by the sound of a feral cat somewhere serenading the dawn (and Boomer deciding to try a tenor counterpoint), then brunch at a local Southern BBQ place that does a killer buffet. [livejournal.com profile] arcaedia was sent off to catch her train home and then (fortified by iced tea and a fan set on "high"), it was back to work. Much work waiting on the desk, yes.

And it's supposed to be damnhot[tm] all week. Urgh. *melt*

Ooo. Speaking of melt. Sara Ramirez. Oooo. The voice on her.

Update: SPAMALOT! Yay, Spamalot! Best Musical! *massive Kermie-armwaving*

Heh.

When [livejournal.com profile] arcaedia gets back and find an email from me...

Well. New Novel is up to 45,000 words. That's in seventeen days.

Did you have masses of fun at BEA? Sounds generally yummy.

What, Hugh? Yes. Hugh AND the Great Enchanter Tim in the space of 30 minutes? Yeah. Jackman and Curry? I'm in accent heaven. :)

And who knew Jackman's and Aretha's singing voices were even remotely complementary? *blink*

Although I was unfortunately not impressed by the Spamalot piece. Yes, Sara Ramirez has an amazing voice, but that particular piece wasn't even in the same league as the Sweet Charity or The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee pieces, IMO.

No, no! NO gauntlet - this isn't a competition.Tthis is the one that's been trying to eat its way out since a certain event in the seventies. I'm bleeding the damned thing. You do NOT want to go there - trust me on that.

I haven't even seen the musical and I cheered loudly when they won.

Oh, I was so tempted to log on after the "Won't Dance" number and IM about five women asking "Was it good for you too?"

*wave* - reached home safely, managed to get the AC unit into the bedroom window with much-appreciated help from [livejournal.com profile] mcurry. Am currently in post-BEA coma-like-state. Hope it wears off soon.... Thanks again for the hospitality.

What Is it with the accents? I'm from Melbourne, Australia also. I get people i don't know stopping me in the street and asking me if i'm australian (or english if they're iggerant) and then they ask me to say something.. ANYthing. Nine times out of ten they'll then swoon just a little.
I'm also a redhead, My husband's male friends are SO jealous that he has a redhead aussie for a wife. Can somebody PLEASE explain this to me?

Kada - very baffled by this phenomenon.

Tim Curry.. His Mellifluousness! {drool}

Hugh Jackman.. {drool}

Hmm.. have any of you heard of Anthony Warlow?? now THAT's a sexy voice. Saw him on stage as Don Quixote. Wow.

Another voice i discovered just this year is David Gould. He's a bass and was in the ESSGEE productions of Mikado. Oh definitely drool worthy. You know the kind of voice that makes your chest reverberate? My friend and i were sitting on the couch with my hubby squished in between us to watch this dvd.. and both of us at the same time when he started to sing, melted into big puddles on the couch. LOL
We watched and rewatched Let the Punishment Fit the Crime. (hubby's a baritone and was most put out that he couldn't compete in the melty stakes! LOL)
