*melt* and various updates
Jun. 5th, 2005 10:03 pmIs hot. Is very hot. Am not a hapy meerkat.
On the other hand, Sara Ramirez won a Tony for her role in Spamalot. Yayyyyy! *much Kermit-waving of arms* I am pleased to say I predicted this, mere moments after seeing her do The Diva Song onstage. And Mike Nichols won for best direction of same, yayyyy!
(and Terri? *hands her a towel* You know you need it, and you know why. *grin*)
Spent last night at the Harlequin Book Expo party, which was quite swanky and a lot of fun, and ooo, caviar! And after the party ended, there were late night single malts (and cider) in the local Irish pub with fellow Lunatix Maria Snyder,
arcaedia, and Luna Goddess and editor Mary-Theresa Hussey. And yes, we were by far the best dressed femmes in the joint. :-)
Today? Woken by the sound of a feral cat somewhere serenading the dawn (and Boomer deciding to try a tenor counterpoint), then brunch at a local Southern BBQ place that does a killer buffet.
arcaedia was sent off to catch her train home and then (fortified by iced tea and a fan set on "high"), it was back to work. Much work waiting on the desk, yes.
And it's supposed to be damnhot[tm] all week. Urgh. *melt*
Ooo. Speaking of melt. Sara Ramirez. Oooo. The voice on her.
Update: SPAMALOT! Yay, Spamalot! Best Musical! *massive Kermie-armwaving*
Damn. Do they have the entire damn cast and crew up there?

Well. New Novel is up to 45,000 words. That's in seventeen days.
Did you have masses of fun at BEA? Sounds generally yummy.

Although I was unfortunately not impressed by the Spamalot piece. Yes, Sara Ramirez has an amazing voice, but that particular piece wasn't even in the same league as the Sweet Charity or The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee pieces, IMO.

I haven't even seen the musical and I cheered loudly when they won.

Date: 2005-06-06 05:17 pm (UTC)Hugh Jackman.. {drool}
Hmm.. have any of you heard of Anthony Warlow?? now THAT's a sexy voice. Saw him on stage as Don Quixote. Wow.
Another voice i discovered just this year is David Gould. He's a bass and was in the ESSGEE productions of Mikado. Oh definitely drool worthy. You know the kind of voice that makes your chest reverberate? My friend and i were sitting on the couch with my hubby squished in between us to watch this dvd.. and both of us at the same time when he started to sing, melted into big puddles on the couch. LOL
We watched and rewatched Let the Punishment Fit the Crime. (hubby's a baritone and was most put out that he couldn't compete in the melty stakes! LOL)
