1) Total number of books I've owned?
'Owned,' as in, cumulative total? You're shitting me, right? I used to have in my posession a copy of every single book I edited over fifteen years. Plus a lifetime of reading and rereading and bringing home new books.. and that's just the fiction! We start talking about nonfiction, from textbooks I've lugged from home to home, to casual "ooo that might be interesting some day" acquistions, to...

I think the only possible answer is "enough that silverfish used to send me holiday cards."

Now-at-this-instant, it's down to something managable, which is probably around two hundred. And that's not counting anything in digital or audio form.

2) The last book I bought?
Um. I bought a pile of stuff, including some pre-orders. Do pre-orders count? If so, then it's Locked Rooms by Laurie King and The Star Tablet by Jay Caselberg.

3) The last book I read?
Actually published and read all the way to the finish? Ghosts in the Snow by Tamara Siler Jones. I'm currently reading two unpublished novels, one for OpEd, the other for potential quoting. So no names given on those.
