A slow but steady slog, not counting the place where I have "come back and write the rest of this scene later." Still feeling pretty good about what's getting laid down on the page, although I think this book's going to be so much stronger than #2, it's sort of disconcerting. Still, that's the point of it all, isn't it? To grow and learn and do it better next go-round?

favorite bit:

"Life and death were too gritty, too messy, to be polite, or refined. Money, yes. He could be as refined as the next salesman when it came to money. But blood was a different matter. Especially his own blood.

Especially Wren’s blood."

Life, overall, is pretty good, actually. I should be wary, coming into a Monday feeling so good. But even the things that I suspect were meant to bother me just amuse (or bemuse) me, right now, and the things that are good are... Very Good.

We'll see how long that lasts, and if it translates into killer wordcount today or not...

Oh, and have learned that Staying Dead seems to be sold out on the e-Harlequin bookstore site. (!) Anyone else hearing rumors of hard-to-get, or is it just that vendor being temporarily out-of-stock? Curious authors are taking notes...

I had to special order mine, but I didn't have any problems getting it when the local BN didn't have it in stock. When I went to special order it at the CS desk, the nice employee knew exactly which book I wanted. It seems that she had already special ordered it twice the preceding week.

I don't know about recently, but it was very nearly a slug-fest at the con just after it was released, when only one dealer brought copies. (And I got one! Whee!!!)

I tried buying it locally; of my usual three bookstores in Manhattan, last week all three didn't have it. Then this week one said they had it, but couldn't find it. Then a fourth bookstore said they had it, but couldn't find it. I finally tracked down a copy at a fifth (and it happened to have been an autographed one). So--definitely hard to find at the moment.
