The Writing Life: Keeping me Honest

A slow but steady slog, not counting the place where I have "come back and write the rest of this scene later." Still feeling pretty good about what's getting laid down on the page, although I think this book's going to be so much stronger than #2, it's sort of disconcerting. Still, that's the point of it all, isn't it? To grow and learn and do it better next go-round?
favorite bit:
"Life and death were too gritty, too messy, to be polite, or refined. Money, yes. He could be as refined as the next salesman when it came to money. But blood was a different matter. Especially his own blood.
Especially Wren’s blood."
Life, overall, is pretty good, actually. I should be wary, coming into a Monday feeling so good. But even the things that I suspect were meant to bother me just amuse (or bemuse) me, right now, and the things that are good are... Very Good.
We'll see how long that lasts, and if it translates into killer wordcount today or not...
Oh, and have learned that Staying Dead seems to be sold out on the e-Harlequin bookstore site. (!) Anyone else hearing rumors of hard-to-get, or is it just that vendor being temporarily out-of-stock? Curious authors are taking notes...
