Despite having a frighteningly active social life this weekend (oy, she said, sagging from sheer people-exhaustion), I managed to get a requested sample chapter written, to go with a proposal currently sitting on an editor's desk. Now to see if anything further happens. *claws crossed*

Tomorrow, two things will happen.

1. The revisions requested on the non-fiction project will arrive, and a) send me into a froth or b) make me go "hey, not a problem!"
2. I begin the third Retrievers book, working title Blood Cost.

Am very much looking forward to Monday.

:starts to check Suri's forehead for a fever and then remembers Suri works at home: Oh....guess you *can* look forward to Monday then. :p

:stares around office cube and vows to work harder at getting out of the rat race...:

Being the cheese is always smellier in the other rat's cage, yes?

:sigh: There should've been a :wry smile: before my name -- if I've learned anything from my many years on the internet and posting to emails and bbs, is that one should always be careful to /emote so that folks don't misunderstand one's posts.
Suri, I think I could handle the rats better from my own home and at my own pace, no matter how small the cheese might be. I totally understand that there are days when you probably work much harder and longer hours than I do at the office. But then, you love your work. I'd gladly put in 12 - 14 hours writing, because it's something I also love and believe in. Working in a financial institution with a bunch of young Republicans is not my idea of a Good Time.
But it puts food on the table and keeps a roof over my head, so....
BTW, great news on the third Retrievers novel. I'm so looking forward to reading #2 and seeing what's going on with Wren and Sergei. Ahhhhh.....Sergei.....
:foolish grin:
