*sigh* Had long post typed up, and server went and lost it. Another reason to wince.

In addition to having the worst sinus headache known to mankind, and a manuscript that needs a line-edit before it goes into production, and they need it _today_. And we have a 90 minute meeting scheduled for this afternoon.

I am meerkat. Hear me whine.

And then there are the death-wish idiots who are going to get bitch-slapped soon for starting up the chant of "choke, choke" regarding my grandfather's beloved Sox. Yesterday's game was a loss, yeah, but hardly a 'choke.'

Then again, what do you expect from a certain type of Yankee fan? Having cause for arrogance is the best reason NOT to be arrogant, and not just because the gods love a good pratfall.

And speaking of bitch-slapping, I had to explain the term to someone this weekend. I was astonished. I thought it was one of thiose universally-understood terms.

Apparently, not for Canadians. Who knew?

Of course, it could be worse. We could all be Cubs fans. *wince wince wince*

*winces* The Cubs collapse was painful to watch. I do want a Sox-Cubs series just to spite the group of loud Yankees fans I had a panel with at MediaWest on sports & media fans. There are other sports and there are other teams, folks, but everything came back to the Yankees in their books.

At least I missed the Redskins self-destruction.

It's not exactly thriving at Fedex either. We're going to get our QB killed at this rate or needed a bionic shoulder replacement.

Who would have thought the Cowboys would be doing so well? Parcells is good, but usually he needs a year.

*groan* Tell me about it. Jeez, it was the only thing on the radio in the morning, and practically the only non-work thing talked about all day.
