Home and Away
Aug. 6th, 2013 08:28 amHome from the agency retreat, which was both fun and useful and had a hot tub wherein good conversations were also had. And I kinda adore my new stable-mates (at least, the ones I met there).
And then some of us went kayaking on a wind-swept lake, and let the sun and breeze and exercise relax the brain.
So yeah, that was good, and am already looking forward to next year's retreat. But first, to put into motion things that were learned and discussed....
(which will probably be another post. Or a series of posts as we go...)
And then home, to discover that the boys had progressed to the leapfrog-and-pounce stage of their relationship: CatofSize is being remarkably big-brother-patient with Cas, allowing all sorts of terrible indignities, including tail-pouncing, and lil idjit eating out of his food dish while CatofSize is still eating. No hissing, no swatting, just a put-upon sigh.
And Cas has grown while I'm away. He's still all legs and tail and awkwardness, but the legs seem longer, somehow, and the body certainly is. I half-expect to come home form the next trip and find the kitten gone and a full-grown cat in his place. That won't happen quite so fast, right?
Thankfully, he remembers and still loves me. CatofSize must be reminding him that Momma Two-Legs always comes home and then there is pettins and treats and belly rubs.
But I am off again, on Thursday, heading for Seattle and Portland and then Seattle again and then Portland again, and then San Francisco for the Not-A-Tour. Hopefully I will see some of you along the way. And then home for a week. And then off to DragonCon in Atlanta. And that will be August for me....
Did I mention that book that's due on September 15th? Yeah....
