the cognitive dissonan-huh? therein.

case in point: Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl."

To quote [livejournal.com profile] kradical -- *wibble*. Really. Hearing that on the radio? I felt my brain start to fizz. And not in the "I spent a lot of money to get that sensation" way, either.

------------------------------------

Got a lot done today. Most of it unutterably boring (there is nothing quite so snooze-making as watching a writer toil) and some little of it unspeakably silly, so I hsall neither utter nor speak but merely say that Curse the Dark is now available on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.ca. Yay!

Oh -- and while the highlight of last night's television viewing was, as ever, "House" (the old woman who was exhibiting Fannish Squee as a symptom is a moment that should be noted), PAX's "Young Blades" actually wasn't bad. It wasn't good, no, but... imagine "The Young Riders" crossed with what "Queen of Swords" should have been, and you'll get the idea. Besides, Boxleitner. You know I'm there, for as long as it lasts. Even if they do have him as an *ugh* blond. With a soul patch. Some of you know my feelings about those. *shudder*

Never heard that song ("Rich Girl"). What's the deal?

WORD on the soul patch--yech. I just don't get those. It's my personal theory that they developed as a byproduct of guys being afraid they might nick themselves if they shaved that part of their faces.

Hrmm. Ew, I think. I'm not likely to hear it except by accident, so maybe I'll be safe from the wibbleage.
