Woke to a dubious morning.  In reaction, I made banana bread, with yogurt and a hint of ginger. Smells incredible, tastes really good, a little dense/chewy in consistency. Next time I'll adjust the white-to-wheat flour differently. But there will be a next time, oh yes.

Then, as it decided not to rain, I biked down to the Farmer's Market in Inwood, and came back with horseradish pickles, cress, ramps, and duck breast. Nom.

And then the mail brought me checks (for the mystery project), and a contract (the Hebrew editions of WEIGHT OF STONE and THE SHATTERED VINE), and no bills! I call that win.

(sadly, the bills came yesterday)

And then I managed to write myself into a wall on the current project-with-a-due-date, so I left it to think about what it had done, and worked on the Other Stuff.  And then, one dinner partner having abandoned me in the face of rain (it hasn't rained) and the other being on the IR list, I  made pepper steak, had a glass of wine, did some personal housekeeping, and watched "Have His Carcase"* (the Petherbridge version). I am now about to edit the hell out of someone else's book.

And I didn't stress ONCE today.  No, I didn't stress twice either, wiseasses.

So we deduce from this that the combination of cooking + exercise + productive working + wine = Good Day.  Okay, the perfect weather, checks and contracts didn't hurt, either...

*and yes, I admit it.  I want a Lord Peter of my own**.

** Actually, I'd probably have much more fun with Bunter.
