A Poetic Amusement....
Oct. 12th, 2011 09:10 amOver on his LJ,
jaylake talks (via
jimvanpelt) about recasting prose as poetry, to look at your current work from another perspective. I gave it a try, and was amused at how the current short story turned out....
Unlike the sax,
the trombone
blasts its way onto the scene,
sliding like a triumphant runner
into third base,
giving the rest of the band a neener-neener
as it brushes itself off
and accepts
the accolades of the crowd.
You needed a certain kind of arrogance
to pick up a trombone,
and you needed even more
to keep playing
until you got the hang of it.
Yeah. Can anyone guess what school of poetry I gravitate toward?
And how about you? What does your prose look like, recast?
