that was the weekend that was, Lunacon edition

Home from Lunacon, which managed to prove once again that organization, planning, and communication aren't really necessary to run a good regional convention so long s you have seasoned pros and enthusiastic fans in attendance.

And yet despite some notable problems early on, every one of my panels was well-attended and enthusiastic and (I think) interesting for folk on both sides of the panel, and the parties - including the launch of AFTER HOURS: Tales from the Ur bar (BN / Independent Bookstores / Amazon) were great fun (kudos to Joshua and Trish, who did all the actual hard work of planning our party!)

I am hoping that next year the ConCom manages to get their act together (and remember that a) they don't have to reinvent the wheel and b) it shouldn't be square) because Lunacon has the people and location-potential to be excellent. This year was just good.


Unfortunately, Boomerang came down sick on Friday night, and I spent most of Saturday worrying about him. But he seems to be okay, if subdued, this morning, so here's hoping it was just a 24-hour meh. And now the convention is over, and it's time to buckle down and get back to work. A freelancer's schedule does not wait for Monday morning....

Now both cats are throwing up and vocally unhappy (but active). At least that rules out any serious sneak-medical condition (probably) and increases likelihood of a stomach bug of some sort (or it's stress-related).
