lagilman: coffee or die (WGA strike)
the question to ask is -- how stupid ARE we?

something to chew on, from the Daily Media newsfeed:

"The four US television networks in a pay dispute with Hollywood television writers over online video advertising are in line to generate $120 million of revenues in 2007 from free Web streaming of their content, according to a leading media buyer. The total online video advertising market will be worth close to $1.3 billion this year after doubling in size in 2006, according to Accustream."
-------
Huh. That's the free Web streaming the networks claim they can't afford to pay writers for their content contributions, because they 'don't think there's any money in it.'
lagilman: coffee or die (surrender the manuscript)
DAUGHTER OF THE SEA draft -- done and handed off to editorial mercy, on time. yay!
Freelance Project 1 -- done and gone. Yay!
Freelance Project 2 -- underway. Yay!
Short story from hell -- voice problem solved, ending is nigh. Yay!

and, as of this morning, the last line was typed on the (very very rough) draft of BLOOD FROM STONE (Retrievers #6).

OMFGYAY!

Still work to be done on that, as it is filled with virtual sticky notes to myself on thing I need to fill, fix, correct and expand upon, but the story is there, intact, with a beginning, a middle, and an end that satisfies, and [wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles] leaves everyone in a good place to be left. I think maybe, authorial angst aside, I done good.

I'll be printing the entire thing out and reading it through on Monday, along with a beta reader, well in time for the actual delivery-due date.

Today? Today I get to reshelve all the books that have been taken down, flipped through, stacked, and reshuffled. The restoration of order is a soothing process, and just right for a cold, blustery Saturday....

Oh. But first, Pandora apparently wants to be cuddled. Excuse me, my mistress calls...
