weekend recap
Dec. 4th, 2006 08:01 pmSaturday started out badly, due to a combination of exhaustion, headache, nerves and stupidity on the part of several players. By the end of the day I had been soothed by a lovely dinner with
arcaedia, a few thousand words written on the current project, and snuggles with the felines, who don't like it when momma's upset.
Sunday started better, with more work accomplished, this time on the copyedit for BURNING BRIDGES, and a fan letter from a friend who had just finished reading STAYING DEAD. Then down into Manhattan to hang with the folks, prior to Monday's Gig (about which more later). We walked over to Central Park, hit a crafts baazar, bought holiday cards, and sat around watching the Giants game. More work on the copyedit, and some year-end rejiggering of the financials (wheee), then salmon and sweet potato for dinner, and The Librarian2.
( Cheese, Grommit! - a review )
( The Monday Gig. With 4th graders. )
Afterward, did the last bits of work on the copyedit while treating myself to the annual gingerbread latte at Starbucks (and eavesdropping on a conversation between two lawyers discussing cases involving cops -- v. interestng stuff), before lunch with Madame Editrx. I handed over the copyedit, got chocolate (the two were not related but should have been), looked at covers for various folk, includng some non-Lunas (Mindy, Maria, etc), and then off to fooooood and discussion of things current (pun intended), pending, and future.
A few Necessary Errands, and then home, home, home. For about ten minutes, before I was off again to Monday Night Happy Hour, mainly to drop off my offering for the Toys for Tots drive. I'd missed the last few HHs due to travel and illness, so it was nice to get to see folk again, at least for a little while. But the felines were waiting back home, and not even $5 mojitos can compete with that.
Beside, I feel this intense urge to fall over.
