I've been given the opportunity for a reading this Friday night at Philcon.

Opposite the 'meet the pros" block, not to mention prime bar-time.

Who here, if you were attending, would actually go to a reading on Friday night at 9pm?

Saw the "all-inclusionary" ad there was so much furor over, to the point of some networks refusing to air it.

Lovely. Short, simple, and lovely.

And it was shown on PAX, which was started to "carry forward traditional Christian family values," so there. The mainstream networks who balked ought to be ashamed of themselves. They won't be, more's the pity, but they should be.

Kudos to the U.C.C.

Just back from a day out in da Big City (ooo, the excitement. An eye exam, a stop by my publisher's to wave my arms wildly at my editor, and dinner with my folks). As usual in my somewhat disorganized and religiously chaotic family, we celebrated the first night of Hannukkah by.... having dinner in a French restaurant.

Well, they did light a candle at our table, so that counts, right?

And now home to discover that the cats, having apparently slept all day in perfect harmony (and separate rooms) were now ready and eager to hiss, spit and pounce. *sigh*

On the plus side, got some work on the current Insane Deadline[tm] done, and a large chunk of a new short story written on the bus.

Happies if you celebrate 'em, folks. May the candle wax not drip, the latkes be crisp, and the wine (kashrut or not) be of high quality...
