Accomplishments

Despite there being Bad Stuff going on around me (see previous entries), I'm still having a remarkably accomplishing week so far.

Of course, it's only Tuesday. Maybe I shouldn't say anything?

But still. Almost 5,000 words more on Retrievers2 since Monday morning Update: Word count is now up to 6,000 -- that's new stuff I've written and kept, not the total words written), and l'editrix likes my cover ideas. *happiness* Of course, she's also pushing for a title, and I haven't quite gotten to that point yet, but... hrm. We're working on it. Researching for a plot-point that I need to get down as perfectly as possible, so the word count may suffer for the next day or so.

Got invited to submit to an anthology. It may conflict with the timing of another anthology I've already been asked to submit for (and, more to the point, an antho I already have a story idea for) but it's nice so very nice to be invited.

And on the domestic front, I came up with an excellent chicken curry salad recipe that I can use for the ID4 party this summer. It's yummy, it can be made ahead of time, and it's actually healthy as even the most demanding health freak could demand. And it doesn't trigger any known food allergies among the ID4 celebrants.

Okay, I got the original URL for this, and here's my result (note the lack of errors in the form, this time around, not to mention the additional fin on drinking budies...)


Cerebral Virgos are compelled to impose order onto their bender. Their famously fussy quest for purity could lead to drinking less than other signs, sure -- but it could also lead to drinking booze neat, to sucking down organic wine or just to brand loyalty. They rarely get fully shellacked -- but, oh, when they do! Virgo's controlled by the intellect, but there's an unbridled beast lurking within, and they let it loose when walloped. It's dead sexy (and surprisingly unsloppy). As one Virgo friend used to declare, "I'm going to drink myself into a low level of intelligence tonight." A toast to the subgenius IQ!

Trademark cocktails
Many Virgos prefer clear, simple, untreacly drinks like vodka tonic or a real margarita, though you'll find 'em drinking anything -- from unflinchingly downing Cuervo straight to smirkingly ordering a dirty virgin. They also tend to like bitter, low-alk guzzles like Campari and soda. They rarely change their drink once they've found it, however.

(suri says: um... okay, fair cop. G&Ts and single malts, wine, and ouzo shots. Yeah.)
