sesame noodles and the BEST SPARERIBS IN TOWN from Pig Heaven (If you haven't had them - you simply haven't lived) and while nibbling on these delectable dainties of deliciousness, it is - of course - time for my annual back to back viewings of "Lion in Winter" and "The Ref".

Ah, the great Christmas Traditions in Gotham!

well, some of it is. A couple of years ago, the woman that had been the hostess bought it and redid the front part. She did keep the delightfully - um, festive - porcine decor in the back half of the place though. I always as to sit back there :-)

I've been going there for nearly 20 years and every time I go, she has a new pig in her collection. We talk pig collections quite seriously and I always try to wear my pig earrings there when I go.

Spicy orange beef and mixed veggies in brown garlic sauce! Well, that's if I wasn't doing the Family Thang for dinner tonight. ;-)

Tomorrow I think I'll watch one of the Hornblower movies, or maybe Prisoner of Azkaban. I also have a copy of Sharpe's Rifles from Netflix still waiting to be viewed. Decisions, decisions....

Mongolian Beef, Hung Su Chicken Kow.

Given how we're feeling, a rental is more likely than a theater.

I'd love some good General Tso's! Can't find any here in LA, believe it or not. So I'm doing our semi-tradition eve dinner of chicken & walnuts. Not quite chinese, but still tasty.

We're going to see The Phantom of the Opera tomorrow.

Alas, I don't think there are any Chinese takeouts open tomorrow. I may have dinner with my trainer.

Or not.

In any case, it's a tossup between Ocean's Twelve, or ROTK, or a Firefly marathon (I finally got Firefly! Yay!).

Or maybe I'll just try to finish reading the serial killer book.

Whatever.

christmas. feh.

If I know my gift-givers, tomorrow should bring a tough choice: Star Wars or Return of the King...

Actually, not so tough. I've already seen the Star Wars DVDs when they came out, and RotK has 50 new minutes :-)

No Chinese, I'm cooking the turkey blowout. (It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie!) And the movie is either going to be Love Actually (for Mother) or Dorothy Sayers Mystery: Gaudy Night (for Dad.)

If I have my way, tomorrow will be Thai peanut noodles with scallops and lots of anime. But I probably won't so there will be a ride looking for a different Chinese place and probably some crab ragoon and a beef dish with garlic and whatever catches my eye. And instead of movies there will be sewing by my mother and role playing books read by me.

Were I really a good Jew I would have gotten The Hebrew Hammer by now.

Due to parties scheduled for tonight and tomorrow, I did my movie-going yesterday: Saw "Finding Neverland," and I recommend it highly. Quite wonderful.

Did my Chinese food this morning: dim sum with [livejournal.com profile] dlevine and [livejournal.com profile] kateyule who were in town to see the latter's family units. It's all been fabulous so far.

Although I am a goy, I will eat chinese food if there's any place open tomorrow.

I'm thinking extended RoTK myself. Can't wait to see the extra footage and the SO hasn't seen it at all!!!!

Holiday Movies...

Phantom of the Opera, Lemony Snicket, Incredibles, maybe even more.

What can I say I am a film junkie. ;)

I'm running over to have dinner at 3pm with my neighbors (but their psycho daughter will also be there this year so I probably won't be there long!). I just saw ROTK so may opt for "I Capture the Castle."

Okay, who's up for some Chinese food?

Me. Always. And today, anything but turkey.

What movies are everyone planning to see tomorrow?

"King Arthur." Got a DVD in my stocking, and a new machine to play it on.
