(there were only so many hoops the tech gnomes could jump through before they were dragged off to do food shopping and packing)

I wish that one of the local to me radio stations hadn't gone "Christmas music" 24/7 around Halloween. *headdesk* Oh, and my new apartment complex has their Christmas decorations out since right after Halloween I can see some of them right outside my bedroom window as can the feline delegation.

It's frustrating for me because I'm not Christian even though I know a bit more about the different denominations due to my work as an interfaith discussion group moderator.

Yeah - being not-Christian in December is a continual exercise in biting your tongue every time someone laments how there's a "war against Christmas." Putting my menorah in the window is a small but significant act of pushback....

(and I'm very much aware that in some times and places it would also be an act of courage)

Thankfully, my apartment building and place of employment waited until 1 December to put up their tree. I can deal with it for a month, so long as they don't also start piping Christmas music into my ears....

I don't put my menorahs in my windows because cats+candles+carpeting=loss of security deposit, especially if the window sills are rather narrow.

One of the things that bugs the living daylights out of me is when I'm subjugated to several members of the indigent community on campus and/or the campus Bible Study trying to convert me to their respective ideas of Christianity. Only three members of the Bible Study group haven't been telling me how to believe (and they're also members of the campus interfaith discussion group, which I'm a member.) Several of the indigent community have been saying that the Talmud is actually a satanic book and the Torah isn't actually a legitimate part of the bible please refrain from putting your fist through your monitor or your computer through a window (you require them for work).

Another pet peeve I've named it Ben is when the same "carols" and/or commercials with the pseudo-Christmas "spirit" seem to repeat over and over again, yet these same people/businesses seem to disappear from the Christmas Spirit radar the rest of the year. I think that they should either put up or shut up.

I apologize for my rants hijacking your thread. I think that I'll open another tab with a cute kitten site (they usually center me and bring my blood pressure down to normal.)
