2015 stretching out in front of us....

(well, after getting to bed somewhere around 2am and waking up at 6am to feed and shoot the cats, so it really wasn't THAT much sleep...)
While part of me is sorry not to have been part of Party Central last night (I live within the immediate area of the fireworks display), I'm not sorry to have seen the new year in with my Seattle-area family.
And now - after I inform Boomer that leftover whitefish salad is NOT for kittens - I will finish the post-party-prep cleanup, and get down to the business of the day, which is indeed the business of the year.
First: to get the #willwrite2feedothers story posted.
Second: to kick the things still waiting on the Sylvan Investigations novellas and put them into production. Okay, that may have to wait until the 2nd, because New Year's Day, and the minions negotiated it off. I'm such a pushover.
Past today? Foremost in my mind is that SILVER ON THE ROAD will be published in 2015.
I have no idea how that's gonna go. Obviously, I hope it knocks my career up another notch or three, but.... well. Publishing is a crapshoot where you play with someone else's dice on a randomly-moving table. All you have is that one throw....
So yeah, this is also going to be the year I actually, actively promote a project to the point of possibly annoying people who read my social media regularly. I apologize in advance for that, and enlist your help - the wider news of the new book spreads (with anticipation/glee attached, natch), the less I have to do here.
More on that to come. Also the follow-up, as I write it.
Second and equal in my mind: settling into Seattle. This is an experiment as well as an adventure, and pretty much without an outline, blueprint or schedule. Updates as they happen, both here and in the Book View Cafe blog-series (the next one will be up this week).
Third, is to fill the rest of my editorial slots for the year (there are 8 left). That's a B plot, but an important one. So if you think you might want to dance, it's time to put your name down on my card... (is that too aged a reference? Tough, I'm keeping it).
And for the rest.... well, we'l see how it all goes. There are a bunch of new projects in the planning stages. Some require a publisher to get on board, some will be done via Book View Cafe, some require publishers getting off-board, as it were.
No resolutions, but a lot of plans. And I keep writing, writing, writing...

Date: 2015-01-01 11:01 pm (UTC)2015 looks pretty vague and fuzzy from here. I have no concrete plans at all except to try and continue last year's 'eat less and exercise more'. Last year also included 'keep writing' but I am currently feeling unenthusiastic in the extreme about that... Probably just a phase though. Maybe.
Oh, I suppose another plan is read SILVER the second I am able to do so. For proper this time. :)

Date: 2015-01-02 04:52 pm (UTC)Off to a good start so far. Nice NYE party, a bit of shopping yesterday, office closed today. 2015 looks to be a BUSY year, with more business travel on the calendar than the last few years. Some other good things we are expecting will happen.
I get to visit Seattle for a couple of days at the end of the month, though I'll mostly see the area around the airport.
